Copland's Third in New Baltimore Symphony Podcast

Since April, the orchestra’s new Off The Cuff podcast has featured past live recordings from their popular performance series of the same name. Created in 2008 by Baltimore Symphony Music Director Marin Alsop, the series offers audience members a chance to dive deeper into a single orchestral work with added background and commentary, plus a post performance audience Q & A session and after party.

While we won’t get to experience the after party or Q&A in the latest episode, what we will hear is Alsop’s approachable and informative introduction to Copland and his Third Symphony, complete with musical examples played live by members of the orchestra, and a complete performance of the work, all recorded live from the November 2018 performance. Other featured composers on the podcast so far have ranged from Strauss to Holst to Dvorak with new episodes released on Tuesdays.

Off The Cuff and other podcast offerings from the Baltimore Symphony are available to stream anywhere you listen to podcasts, or directly on their website at the link below.
